County Maps (Beta Version)
Below are links to pages to downloadable detailed broadband inventory maps for each of Illinois' counties.
What do these maps show?
- These are printer-friendly maps that include broadband coverage, cities and towns, county boundaries, and detailed road information. The data contained within these maps are currently in beta version.
- These maps represent 104 Illinois broadband providers.
- 97.96% of Illinois households have access to terrestrial fixed broadband service of at least 768Kbps downstream and 200Kbps upstream (excluding mobile and satellite services).
- 2.04% of Illinois households are unserved by a terrestrial fixed broadband provider, representing approximately 93,510 unserved households that do not have access to a fixed wireless or wired broadband service offering (excluding mobile and satellite service).
- With mobile broadband service included, 99.71% orĀ 4,578,642 Illinois households have access to broadband service of at least 768Kbps downstream and 200Kbps upstream.
- This analysis is conducted through a geoprocessing tool that analyzes Census Block demographics with the aggregated broadband service overlay from the provider data. For more information about the methodology, please click here.
The public plays a key role in verifying the information that is represented on the maps. We encourage state residents to tell us about their broadband availability by taking this short survey.
As the mapping program progresses, updates will be made regularly to the maps. Thank you for taking the time to participate and review the progress.
